Bismuth, 'Live On Air', Sunday June 29th 2014.

Bismuth (Vleuten/Rotterdam), live on air.
Recorded: Sunday June 29th 2014, ‘Gouwestad Radio Studio 2.
Tracks: Set 1/Set 2/Set 3/Set 4.

Note: for one of my annual Sports-summerbreak-shows ‘Eldoradio’, I invited Yuri Landman and Arnold van de Velde of improvisation duo ‘Bismuth’ for a chat and some liuve performances. It took them an hour to fill the studio with effects, homemade beatboxes, self designed and build instruments and contact-miked bottles of soft drinks, after which they played four lengthy pieces of improvised atonal soundscapes. Amazing stuff.

At No Bikini Beach, September 10th 2010.

At No Bikini Beach (Rotterdam), 2-Track recorded.
Friday September 10th 2010, ‘Gouwestad Radio Studio 2’ Gouda.
Tracks: Golden Girls (Tk 1-5)/Ijsmuggen (Tk 1-2)/Ibizahut/VRT Commercial

Note: Rene van Lien and Arnold v/d Velde (Both ‘Neon Rainbow’, ex-‘Feverdream’), teamed up with Jos Hoevenaars (Sir Ian) and drummer Micha Haring (Elle Bandita, Sir Ian) for an acoustic session and an interview to promote ‘The New Bikini’, released earlier that week. The session was fun to do, resulting in some weird versions of ‘golden Girls’ and ‘Ibizahut’ during soundcheck, as well as a mocked-up Flemish commercial and an alas not recorded improvisational song on how nice the lads in the band were. The commercial and the soundcheck version of ‘Golden Girls’ were put at the start and end of the show, which was broadcasted one week later.

Feverdream, March 2nd 2001.

Feverdream (Rotterdam/Spijkenisse), live on air.
Recorded: March 2nd 2001. Studio 2.
Tracks: Last Dance/Better Not To Love/Memories/ Four Times Lucky Seven Makes A Man The Man/Red VS Blue.

Note: Claiming it was impossible to play acoustic, this set was delayed for about two years. After performing ‘Lucky Seven’ live on national radio, proved he could and we settled an interview for this day. The band was inbetween records at this stage, playing lots of gigs in Holland and abroad. Thre out of five songs singer Rene van Lien performed during the show remain unreleased. ‘Lucky Seven’ later made it on an EP, while ‘Red VS Blue’ got it’s electrified release on their 2000 self-released debut-CD.

Feverdream - 'So What' Gouda, January 7th 2000.

Feverdream (Rotterdam), 4-track recorded.
Friday January 7th 2000, 'So What' Gouda.
Tracks: Introsong/Cupid Wings/What Pedro Says/'Is The PA OFF??'/Attack Starter/Unknown/Unknown/Unknown/Unknown/Situation/Love Kicks Your Ass/Minimal/Did I Ask For Your Opinion/Conscious Unconsciously/Unknown/Poetry/Legging Lady/Digit Span Extended.

Note: after the third song the soundman took the guitars out of the soundboard, as the amplifiers were louder than the PA itself. As the recording was a mix of the soundboard-signal and two mikes in the venue, the rest of the recordings weren't of broadcast-quality and remain vaulted.
