Note: closing a row of gigs in Gouda, Mark played a full band set in a optimistic and relaxed mood. Due to some minor technical difficulties, some of the songs have too soft vocals. Nevertheless a great show and recording.

Note: Metal-outfit ‘Smekmuk’ changed bassplayer, added a new singer and changed it’s name to ‘Exhilaration’. Eager to present new material, they walked by the studio for a chat, a spin of their work-in-progress demo and four acoustic live tracks. Nice guys, nice music.

Note: for one of my annual Sports-summerbreak-shows ‘Eldoradio’, I invited Yuri Landman and Arnold van de Velde of improvisation duo ‘Bismuth’ for a chat and some liuve performances. It took them an hour to fill the studio with effects, homemade beatboxes, self designed and build instruments and contact-miked bottles of soft drinks, after which they played four lengthy pieces of improvised atonal soundscapes. Amazing stuff.

Note: Edwin Bol (Mint, Moonstar) dragged himself to the studio after a long emission in his musical career due to health problems, to let the world know he’s still alive and kicking with his new project Leonheart. Partner (in crime) Vanessa Boogert came home from a short holiday early that morning, so she stayed home for this occasion. His performance of five introspective, moody songs was breathtaking in it’s intensity. Still don’t know who is more gratefull for this performance.

Note: another visit to the studio by Merel, Jan and Bas, this time to promote their second album. A beautifull set, which not only captured their musical skills, but also rthe relaxed atmosphere within the band. Who partly resided on a sunny terrace on the outside market square, when they found out it was impossible to set up the full set they brought along from another radio slot earlier that day.

Note: Bas Jacobs (Seedling, Pfaff, We Be Naked) came to the studio to tell more about the initiative ‘Off Amsterdam’ he’s involved with and to promote the release of the debut album by his new band Ensor. Never expected the tiny guitar-amp he brought along could make so much noise. Which suited the song he played very well

Note: To promote the upcoming release of their 10” EP one month later, this Psychedelic Garage Blues-trio came by for a chat and three very dedicated acoustic performances, despite mocking about during performances. Their acoustic rendition of ‘From The Day She’s Been Gone’ captures the energy of the electric EP version beautifully in it’s own sense.

Note: Bluesy Rock outfit came to me after a Mark Lotterman instore, to ask wether they could come to my show. So we settled a date at the spot. Their set was truly great, driven and enthusiastic. So much, I even had to ask one of the guitarists to watch himself putting his foot, as it’s tapping couyld be heard through a mike stand.
